B2B pricing FAQ
What to know about contract pricing on Shopify.
Answers for Shopify Plus teams showing account-specific contract
pricing synced from ERPs like Pronto Xi, Microsoft Dynamics 365
Business Central, Apparel21, ASW, Exact and Oracle E-Business
Suite.
Can each customer see their own price?
Yes. Pocketknife shows each B2B account its own contract rates,
price lists and discounts, so buyers see the prices that apply
to them rather than a single public price.
Where does the pricing come from?
Pricing is synced live from your ERP, including price lists,
contract rates, price codes, volume breaks and discounts, so
Shopify reflects your source of truth instead of a manual copy.
Does this remove "call for pricing"?
Yes. Because each account's pricing is available the moment they
log in, buyers no longer have to call or email to find out what
they will pay.
Can it handle volume breaks and tiered pricing?
Yes. Quantity-based volume breaks and tiered, per-product
pricing are resolved for each account so the correct tier is
applied automatically at the right quantity.
Can it handle contract and negotiated rates?
Yes. Negotiated contract rates are honoured per customer and per
product, matching the way your ERP calculates the price.
Are account discounts and promotions applied automatically?
Yes. Account discounts, promotions and coupons are applied
automatically at the cart and checkout, so the agreed price is
what the buyer pays.
Does the price stay correct through checkout?
Yes. The resolved price and discounts are carried through cart
and checkout so the price shown on the storefront is the price
charged on the order.
How often does pricing update?
Pricing syncs continuously from your ERP, so changes to price
lists, contract rates or discounts flow through without a manual
reupload.
Can it support price codes and regional pricing?
Yes. Price codes, regions and currency can be resolved per
account so customers in different regions or on different price
codes see the right pricing.
Does this work with our ERP?
Pocketknife is built for Shopify Plus teams syncing pricing from
ERPs like Pronto Xi, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central,
Apparel21, ASW, Exact and Oracle E-Business Suite, as well as
custom systems that can expose pricing.
What happens if a product has no contract price for an account?
The account falls back to its price list or default pricing, so
buyers always see a valid price rather than a broken or missing
one.
Can reps see customer pricing too?
Yes. When a rep orders on a customer's behalf, that customer's
contract pricing applies, so reps quote and order at the same
prices the customer would see.
